Do I have to be a member of YouGov?

Yes. Only YouGov members can take part in the Connections feature and earn points.

Additionally, only YouGov members that are invited can participate to Connections.

Do I have to share all my data?

No. After adding the extension you will see various data source options - you will be able to choose which data sources you want to add.

How do I get rewards for sharing my data?

Every time you choose to join a project, points will be applied to your YouGov account. If the project requires additional or more up to date data, you may also receive points for re-connecting/adding more data.

Some connections might reward points on a daily basis once connected.

How often can I share my data?

Some sources will only need to be connected once, but others must be updated periodically. This will vary from source to source. As for projects, you can share data with as many as you’d like!

How is my data used?

Your data will be used for market research purposes if and only if you opt into a YouGov project. If you do not, we only use Connections data for development and to offer you projects based on that data as specified when adding a data source.

Every project will also include a detailed description of the data usage. It is important to know that we will only share the information you have uploaded with our clients in an anonymous form (meaning that they will not be able to identify you from the information). Should any of our clients want to receive your data in an identifiable form, we will ask for your consent to share your data in that way, by telling you who our client is, and how they would like to make use of the data. Whether you give your consent or not is completely up to you.
